say it with love
Your ceremony should reflect both of you
A personalized ceremony.
It should reflect your story, your personalities, and why you’ve chosen each other.
My role as a celebrant is to help you find the right script and declarations of love to create a ceremony that feels natural, honest, and deeply personal.

the voice behind the words
Meet Elizabeth
I’m Elizabeth, an American wedding officiant based in Italy.
For many years, I worked as a wedding planner, supporting international couples through every stage of planning their destination wedding.
Over time, I discovered that the ceremony itself was the part I enjoyed most, the magical time that distinguishes a wedding from other special events.
With more than 20 years of experience officiating weddings, my approach is calm, personal, and built on listening. I take the time to understand your story and goals for your destination wedding. As a native English speaker who is also fluent in Italian, I am able to guide couples with clarity, cultural understanding, and ease.
My role is not to perform, but to listen, guide, and create a vow ceremony where your words can truly be heard and shared with those you love.
more than words on paper
The ceremony
The ceremony is not a formality. It’s the emotional center of your wedding day, when time seems to slow down, when your story is spoken aloud.
The words you say on your wedding day will stay with you.
They will stay with the people who witness them.
Your vows deserve care and intention.
Whether you want laughter, tears, or quiet sincerity, I craft every line to reflect who you are as a couple.
Together we create something that feels authentic, personal, and deeply meaningful.
how it works
The journey to your ceremony
First conversation
We start with a relaxed call to get to know each other and talk about your vision for the day.
Your story
I’ll send you a thoughtful questionnaire designed to uncover the moments that define your relationship.
Writing together
I will write a ceremony script tailored to you, which we will refine together until it feels right. I’ll give you tips on processionals, readings, possible rituals and how to make the flow of the ceremony work seamlessly.
The wedding day
On the day, I’m there to guide you to deliver the ceremony you have envisioned.

beyond the ceremony
Officiant & Master of Ceremonies
In addition to leading your ceremony, I can also serve as your Master of Ceremonies.
As MC, I help guide the flow of the day by:
- Welcoming guests and introducing key moments;
- Guiding transitions between the ceremony, dinner, and speeches;
- Making announcements, when needed;
- Keeping the atmosphere relaxed and natural.
This MC role works alongside your wedding planner or venue coordinator, supporting your day without replacing the planner’s work.

questions
Frequently asked
Do you travel across Italy for weddings?
Yes! I am based in Tuscany but I am happy to travel to any venue in Italy and Europe;
Do you perform vow renewals?
I love them! Essentially, it’s a heartfelt and symbolic way to reaffirm your commitment to each other. It’s like hitting the ‘refresh’ button on your marriage, allowing you to celebrate your enduring love and the journey you’ve shared together;
How far in advance should we book?
Ideally, your officiant should be booked shortly after you book your venue and wedding date, but I can work quickly with you, if your timeline is more limited;
Do you officiate legal/civil weddings in Italy?
Yes, I have over 20 years of experience as a ceremony interpreter. I can guide you through the paperwork and booking process with the local registry office;
Do you perform same-sex weddings?
Yes! I work with LGBTQIA+ couples every year and I am happy to marry any couple who wants to tie the knot;
Can we personalize our ceremony script?
The ceremony is symbolic, so many couples marry legally at home first and together we create your destination wedding symbolic ceremony to reflect your taste. A religious or a civil ceremony has traditional scripts that must be used. A symbolic ceremony allows you freedom to personalize the style and script;
Can you help us write our own vows?
Yes, I can send samples and ideas of how to structure your vows so they feel natural;
What languages do you officiate in?
I am a native English speaker, but I also speak Italian fluently;
What's the ceremony writing process like?
It is so important to meet over a video call, so you can ask questions, tell me your love story, and discuss your vision. I can tell you about the general flow of the ceremony and give you tips. After you fill out my special questionnaire, I will work on the first draft for your review and feedback;
Can family or friends participate in the ceremony?
Absolutely! Having a loved one hand you the rings, do a reading, or participate in a special ritual definitely personalizes a ceremony;
How long will the ceremony last?
The average ceremony takes about 20 minutes. Shorter ceremonies can feel rushed to you and possibly anticlimactic for the guests;
What does an officiant wear?
I typically wear tasteful, professional, and discreet attire (often black) to ensure I do not distract from the couple. I have photographic file of my officiant outfits. You may choose my outfit based on your wedding theme, colors, and preference;
Will you come to our wedding rehearsal?
Yes, for an additional travel fee, provided I am available. I contract ceremony rehearsals separately from weddings because most couples don’t need the officiant at the rehearsal. At a wedding rehearsal, you are simply practicing walking and learning where any participants will stand. The officiant does not run through the ceremony itself. I offer all of my couples free online assistance, in the form of a few simple steps, to coordinate their wedding rehearsals;
How much do you charge?
The officiant fee is based partly on your ceremony location, so once the venue and date have been chosen, I will email you an exact price quote;
All of this sounds great! How can we move forward with booking you for our wedding?
Please fill out the form to check my availability for your wedding date.
